Travel Journals of Matt & Mary Capps
First night in Rome
Mary and I arrived in Rome late in the day just before the sun went down. As we got off the plane and made our way to the airport I noticed the warm Mediterranean breeze blowing in my face. Mary had no need for her new Paris coat here.
Security was not as tight as it was at Charles De Gaulle, but we still noticed
armed guards with machine pistols walking through the terminal.
Transportation from the airport was nice we were picked up in a Mercedes
luxury sedan and taken to our hotel, the River Palace.
We could notice right away the difference between the Italians and
the French. The French like Americans because they like our money. But the Italians
love Americans because they love our money. By the end of our trip I could say,
that the Italians love every thing more than everybody.
The Hotel was much nicer than the one in Paris but the rooms and the
elevator was half the size of the ones in Paris. And we thought it was small
their.
We went out on the town that night. We walked to the plaza del popollo where we seen a whole lot of dunk Romans celebrating white knights night. Then found a little café ordered us up some Italian food, and a bottle of red wine. Just as we were about to finish eating a thundercloud busted and it started to rain really hard. We bought an umbrella and maid our way back to the hotel.

It was a Roman holiday the night we arrived in Rome it was called White Knights. All of the music halls, Opera houses ect. was opened up to the public for free

Egyptian oblasts were everywhere in Rome and Paris.

Our Hotel Room was just big enough for our bed and for us to walk around it.
