for the travel journals of
Matt & Marry Capps

Mary and I left for Europe on September 13th 2005 for an eight-day honeymoon. This journey would prove to be the most wonderful, and most difficult trip I had ever taken. The long plane rides where the hardest for both of us. But I brought with me a few good books to read while in transit. One of these books was Benjamin Franklin, an American life, by Walter Isaacson.
I thought it interesting to read about Franklins first trip to France as a representative
of congress during the revolutionary war. I found it fascinating to walk through
and see some of the same things that Franklin seen. I often wondered if our
impressions would have been the same.
When I got back home and began to write my travel journals I could not resist
the temptation of comparing, I and Mary’s first trip to franc to that
of Benjamin Franklin.
So I hope that you will enjoy the short essay that I wrote on Benjamin Franklin
as you read about or travels and look at the many pictures we took.
