Frankenstein is the first monster to be created
by humans. All of the other classic Halloween monsters are all
freaks of nature. The vampire and the ware wolf turned into monsters
from a infection of the blood. Ghost, zombies, and Mummy’s
are natural creatures from the spirit world. But Frankenstein
was created by the hand of man.
The interesting thing about Frankenstein is that of all the writers
in the 19th century who invented or recreated their monsters in
literature, Frankenstein was the most original and maybe best
written of them all.
The other interesting thing about Frankenstein is that its author
was an 18-year-old girl when she started writing the book. And
she was 19 years old when it was published. Mary Shelley name
did not appear in the first addition when it was printed in London.
But it did appear in the second addition, published in France.
A nother remarkable thing about this young author is that she
writes about and seams to understand many of what was then cutting
edge science. And even occult ideas on how to use or miss use
science.
Dr Frankenstein uses a technique called galvanism to create his
monster. Galvanism is the movement of muscles when you stimulate
it with electric current. Many Victorian scientists believed that
if you use the correct amount of electricity, and charged it to
the brain of a dead person you could bring the corps back to life.
Their was a many of would be scientist who did perform many experiments
like this. But none was reported to be successful.
The monster was the victim in this story. And Dr.
Frankenstein was tormented by his creation. The Dr spends the
rest of his life chasing the monster in the hopes of fixing what
went wrong. In the opening pages of Mary Shelly book a ships captain
write back to his sister in Europe, about finding a man stranded
on an ice island in Antarctica. The half dead man turns out to
be Dr. Frankenstein and before he tells his story to the ships
captain and crew he warns them of the wretched effects of allowing
ambition to push one to aim beyond what one is capable of achieving.

Dozens of World War 2 Bombs found on Gallipolis Island
Squirrel locks down High School
QUITO (Reuters) – Fishermen have found a dozen bombs believed
to be from World War Two buried on the Galapagos Islands, a local
government official said Tuesday.
The bombs were found on Bartolome Island, one of the Galapagos
group located about 600 miles off South America's northwestern
coast.
The islands are a province of Ecuador, which let the United States
set up a military base on one, Baltra Island, during World War
Two due to its strategic location southwest of the Panama Canal.
Luis Martinez, chief of operations for Puerto Ayora on Santa
Cruz Island, told Reuters that the bombs posed no danger to the
public but that the Ecuadorean navy had been informed as a precaution.
"This military equipment that was found dates from the Second
World War and was buried. It was not in sight of the beaches,
nor close to them," Martinez said.
He said the authorities were considering making a more thorough
search of the area on Bartolome Island in case there were any
other wartime explosives to unearth.
The volcanic Galapagos Islands are visited by thousands of tourists
from all over the world every year thanks to their vast array
of native species, many of which are endangered.
British naturalist Charles Darwin developed his evolution theory
in the 19th century after studying the wildlife there.
