First
Annual Jerry McIntyre
Memorial Golf Tournament
In honor of my husband, and our father, son, brother,
uncle, cousin, and good friend, Jerry, we are planning
a golf tournament fundraiser to benefit two of Jerry’s
many labors of love – the Holy Ghost/St. Francis
Schools and the Jersey Community Hospital Foundation.
Through the years he served on and helped guide both
the school and hospital boards and lent his construction
expertise to their numerous building projects. It is
our hope that you will use this method to assist both
of these organizations, which were dear to his heart,
and keep Jerry’s community spirit alive, while
enjoying a whole day of unique and fun “Jerry-inspired”
activities!!!
With Sincere Appreciation,

In April 2004 coalition forces captured the heavily fortified
city of Fallujah. After the battle and capture of the city, military
control of the city was handed over to the Iraqi army.
The Fallujah Brigade was commanded by a former Baathist general
Muhammed Latif, who was allowed through the lines to take command
of the city. But only after a few months insurgents re fortified
the city and stock piled it with large amounts of arms and ammunition.
By September of 2004 more than 5000 foreign mercenaries from all
over the Muslim world had entered the city and was spoiling for
a fight with the coalition.
The second battle of Fallujah was fought in November and December
of 2010. The US military called it some of the heaviest urban
combat since the battle of Hue city in Vietnam in 1968.
The 2nd battle of Fallujah began with a diversionary attack to
the west and south of the City. The 36th Iraqi commando Battalion,
along with elements of the 23rd Marine Corps Regiment under the
command of US Army III Core seized a Hospital and two key bridges
over the Euphrates.
This action was little more than a diversion, but it did seal
off the western & southern side of the city.
Too the east of the city the British Black Watch Battalion would
patrol the main highways. There they would pick up and capture
any militants who might have changed their minds and wanted to
go back home.
After this maneuver was achieved, the anvil was now in place,
and the hammer blow would come from the north. The trap was set.

Giant Hail Stone Breaks Record
Kohinoor diamond
The Kohinoor diamond was the largest diamond in the world, 106
carat, 21.6 g. The diamond originated at Kollur, Guntur district
in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.
It has belonged to many different rulers, Hindu, Mughal, Persian,
Afgan, Sikh and the British. It has been bitterly fought over
for many years and was sized as a spoil of war when ever possible.
Finally the East India Company seized it and it became part of
the British Crown Jewels when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress
of India in 1877.
Know one knows for sure who mined it or when it was mined. Some
people estimate that it was originally cut from the mountain more
than 5000 years ago.
Matt Capps
NEW DELHI (AFP) – The real jewel in Britain's
actual crown will not be returning to India, Prime Minister David
Cameron said Thursday, as he ruled out any repatriation of the
famed Kohinoor diamond.
The 105 carat gemstone set in the coronation crown of the British
royals was mined in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
It was seized by the East India Company and became part of the
British Crown Jewels when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress
of India in 1877.
India has made regular requests for its return, but in an interview
during his two-day visit to India, Cameron made clear that the
diamond was going nowhere.
"What tends to happen with these questions is that if you
say yes to one, then you would suddenly find the British Museum
empty," he told the local NDTV news channel.
"I know there is a great argument about the original provenance
of the Kohinoor diamond, but I am afraid to say it's going to
stay put," he added.
VIVIAN, S.D. – The National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration says a giant hailstone that fell in central South
Dakota has broken U.S. records, even though the man who found
it says it melted somewhat while waiting to be evaluated.
The NOAA's National Climate Extremes Committee says
the hailstone found in the town of Vivian on July 23 measures
8 inches in diameter and weighs 1 pound, 15 ounces. The committee
says the South Dakota ice chunk breaks records set by hailstones
discovered in Nebraska and Kansas.
Ranch hand Leslie Scott says the hailstone was about
3 inches larger when he found it. Scott says he put it in the
freezer but that he couldn't prevent some melting because of an
hours-long power outage that followed the storm.
