Exploding whale
Anglers traveling to Alaska for bigger fish and cleaner waters.

Featured Video Presentation

When you have a 45 foot 8-tone whale wash up on a popular beach, people who live in and around the local community take notice. And for those who live to far away to see the giant sperm whale they can smell it for miles. So what is community to do with this unwanted giant fish?

It smells so bad that you cant just let it decay, and it is to big to be pushed or pulled back into the water, and the thought of cutting up a giant sperm whale and trucking it off is just to disgusting to even think about. So take a look at what community leaders near the small town of Florence Organ did with this giant sperm whale in 1970. They blew it up!

The plan was to plow it up with enough high explosive so all that would be left is millions of small pieces of whale. Then birds and other small wild life would be able to carry off the whale meet and eat it.

Sounds like a good plan write. What could possibly go wrong? Watch and see.

Now that we are several weeks into summer many anglers are out on the rivers and lakes honing their skills and looking to catch the really big one that is lurking just beneath the surface.

Here in the Midwest near St. Louis were 3 big rivers; the Missouri, Illinois, and Mississippi all come together it can be described as a sportsman paradise. Lots of anglers knows of big holes in the river were the big old river fish dwell in the deep.

But for those more experienced anglers this is the time of year were many travel down south and venture out into the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. However you must plan your trip carefully so that you avoid pricey tourist traps, or inclement weather like hurricanes. And of cores this year there is that giant oil slick to worry about.

So many anglers are looking to other waters to hunt for big fish, and Alaska is becoming a very popular spot for experienced anglers. Sportsmen like to go to Alaska so that they can enjoy the majesty of the pristine wilderness, and hunt big game. But anglers go so they can battle big fish like the giant Halibut.

But be warned, anglers who are lucky enough to hook one of these big fish are in for a work out. Pump, reel, pump reel and gain maybe 15 or 20 feet of line only to see it go back out when the fish would make a short run. Then after 45 minuets of muscle draining toil if your line and stamina holds you might see you’re worthy opponent emerge from the deep.

Many of these giant halibut are over 7 feet long and weigh over 300 lb. But if you want to do battle with one of these monster fish you will have to travel North, North to Alaska, and if you go make sure to bring a little luck with you too.

Paris bans sausage & wine party due to Muslim outrage
Alert dog spots alligator near Ohio business

This week Paris authorities ban a neighborhood sausage and wine party that was due to be held near a neighborhood that has a large population of Muslims living in or around it. As the date for the party came closer more and more Muslims became outraged at the possibility that French people would be out side walking around drinking wine and eating pork, which Muslims can neither drink nor eat.

Furthermore the perceived insult became to great to bear when it was discovered that the party would take place on a Friday evening, which is the time for Muslims weekly call to prayer.

The date and time of the block party was announced on Facebook last month, and had recently caught the attention of politicians and civic groups who became concerned that there was a possibility for violence.

The Facebook page that the event was announced on had attracted over 7000 members who posted barley disguised anti-Muslim slogans on it.

In a statement before the ban was announced Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe said the party was “clearly inspired by extreme right-wing politics”.

On a face book post one angry Muslim posted that "even the damn Jews can show up to this party and drink wine, but we can do nether". Referring to the fact that Jewish people like Muslims cannot eat pork but can drink alcohol.

However the ban on sausage and wine party’s are not having the desired effect that Persian politician were hoping for. Now there are several more sausage and wine party’s popping up all over France in cities like Toulouse, and Lyon. It is also spreading to other European cities like Brussels, and London where the events are being called “bacon and beer” parties.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Witnesses say a reptile wrangler used his bare hands to capture a 4-foot alligator that an alert dog noticed outside an Ohio business.

Employee Jeff Colucy was with his Weimaraner in the parking lot of a Columbus company that makes office fixtures when the dog went on alert Wednesday morning, focused on the alligator hunkered down in a puddle.

Police brought in reptile wrangler Chris Law, who captured the gator by grabbing it at the tail with his bare hands. He says he didn't have his usual reptile rescue gear because he was about to leave on vacation.

Law says people often buy alligators as pets, then dump them when they get too big. He picks up about 40 a year and turns them over to wildlife rescue groups.
