.....The 2009 lawn mower poker run started at the Jerseyville American Legion at noon on Sunday October 11th and ended at Sammy's Office Lounge, were there was plenty of hot food and cold beer. However this year there was more to it than just another run through the back streets of town on your lawn mower.

..... At the start of this year's annual poker run every one showed up early at the Jerseyville American Legion so that they could witness a 50-yard dash between a horse and a motorcycle. The race was held to settle a bet, and every one showed up to see the spectacle.
