White
House Party Crashers

Christmas,
and so it begins

Featured Video Presentation
Party
Crashers

This
photo released by the White House Nov. 27, 2009, shows President
Barack Obama greeting Michael and Tareq Salahi, right, at a State
Dinner hosted by Obama for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
at the White House in Washington Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009. The Secret
Service is looking into its own security procedures after determining
that the uninvited Virginia couple managed to slip into the dinner.
Ok folks I have to admit that this couple has some nerve and
a lot of luck. They managed to get into the white house and meet
the president. Much to the embarrassment of the secret service,
and the white house staff. I am sure that one or more people will
lose their jobs over this.
It was a sensational publicity coup for these two social lights.
And I am sure they are going to make millions from this one stunt.
But it makes you wonder. What kind of person would be willing
to do something like this?
In the last year or so I have seen a lot of people pull off some
shady stunts in order to get publicity, so that they might profit
from it. You have Octamom, John & kate plus 8, and there was
that guy who told police that his son was a stowaway on a hot
air balloon that looked like a flying saucer.
These reality tv celebrities are probably not the kind of people
who most of us would want to be like or be friends with. They
exploit each other and their children so that they can profit
from it.
Michael and Tareq Salahi can now join the growing list of self
consumed reality stars. I am sure that some day soon they will
have a tv special about what they did, and how they did it. No
doubt I will probably watch the interview so I can see for my
self how they pulled it off.
But it does make me wounded. Does all of this bad reality tv
say anything about the people who exploit them selves, and family
for the fame. Or does it tell us more about the people who watch
it?

The picture above was taken out side TOYS R US in Fairview
Heights at about 11:00pm Thursday, thanksgiving night. At this
time there was about 300 people standing in line. The weather
was cold and blustery; the people standing in line were reported
to be cheerful and resolute. And before the doors opened at
midnight the line grew to be over 1000 people.
This scene was repeated at giant retail store all over the
area Thursday night. Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart all had
early turnout for black Friday. It was the beginning of the
2009 Christmas shopping season. Only 4 more weeks left until
Christmas.
Thanks to my 2 intrepid reporters Mary Capps & Jennifer
Fink.

Sir Ernest Shackleton lost bottles of scotch |
What to do Before You Report a UFO
|

In January 1909 Sir Ernest Shackleton and three
companions made a southern march which established a record
Farthest South latitude at 88°23'S, 97 geographical miles
(114 statute miles, 190 km) from the South Pole, by far the
closest convergence in exploration history up to that time.
For this achievement, Shackleton was knighted by King Edward
VII on his return home.
How ever in order to make it back home alive the expedition
needed to lighten the load. So along with non esentual food
and gear there was also several cases of scotch wisky left behind.
In 2009 a beverage company has asked a team to
drill through Antarctica's ice for a lost cache of some vintage
Scotch whiskey that has been on the rocks since a century ago.
The drillers will be trying to reach two crates
of McKinlay and Co. whiskey that were shipped to the Antarctic
by British polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton as part of his
abandoned 1909 expedition.
Whyte & Mackay, the drinks group that now
owns McKinlay and Co., has asked for a sample of the 100-year-old
scotch for a series of tests that could decide whether to re
launch the now-defunct Scotch.

Experts agree that more and more people are
reporting UFO sighting every year. How ever in our day and
age there are more things flying through the night sky than
ever before.
If you do see something strange take as many
pictures or better yet video of it as you can. Then report
it to MUFON. The Mutual
UFO network. If it looks to be a real deal these folks can
bring to bare the proper resources and experience needed.
3 step check list before you report
you first UFO.
So you've just seen some eery lights in the sky, glowing orbs
that moved in strange ways. This is a UFO report waiting to
happen. But before you go tell all to the MUFON
it could help to check what's in the sky in your area. Here
is your 3-step checklist.
1. Is it Venus?
First, you might want to check with your local astronomer
to determine the location of Venus. The uncanny brilliance
of the planet has inspired many UFO reports, including one
made by President Jimmy Carter.
The remainder of February is a great time to watch for Venus
because it will be at its brightest in the evening twilight
sky. "In the weeks ahead, Venus will be coming closer
still to Earth," the dedicated sky watchers at www.earthsky.org
wrote yesterday. "But it will be showing us less and
less of its lighted hemisphere as it prepares to pass between
us and the sun. So now is the time of maximum brilliance."
Earthsky.org and Space.com have updates on prominent celestial
happenings that might explain your UFO. If you feel like spending
money, programs like Starry Night are available for download.
2. Is it a military exercise?
There's no way to tell when and where the military is conducting
flights, right? Wrong.
The FAA needs to tell pilots when military airspace is being
used to keep collisions from happening. This web site tracks
which sections of "special use airspace" will be
used for military flights. This includes military operations
areas and aerial refueling Missions. For a list of airbases,
airports and special use airspace, also see seeandavoid.org,
a web site established by the Defense Safety Oversight Council
to deter midair collisions.
3. Is it an Earthling's spaceship?
Satellites and spacecraft can be tracked via NASA's web site.
They use data from flight centers to track satellites and
spacecraft. There is a text-based version and an 300 K applet.
